The Goomeri Lions Club aren’t often offered the services of an excellent guest speaker, but recently Allison Rae from Emerald offered to speak members about her involvement in “Our Rainbow House”, an orphanage in Africa.<\/p>\n

Allison is the niece of Lions member Jill Hughes, and gave a very interesting talk which enforced the knowledge that we live in a very lucky country and live privileged lives.<\/p>\n

Afterwards we enjoyed a hot pot meal that our members catered for at the Goomeri Bowls Club, as well as the company of several other visitors who attended the meeting.<\/p>\n

The Goomeri Lions Club have a busy couple of months ahead.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As usual, we’ll be helping out at the Goomeri Christmas Carnival on December 5, and the Murgon Christmas Carnival on December 11.<\/p>\n

We are also hoping that people will get their Christmas decorations ready soon for the Christmas lights judging.<\/p>\n

The Lions Club will also be manning the gate for Goomeri’s New Year’s Eve Rodeo and will have our chip van on site, too.<\/p>\n

If ever you think you would like to be involved in the Goomeri Lions Club yourself, please don’t hesitate to mention it to any of our members.<\/p>\n
