There’s a bunch of young singers practising hard in Kingaroy at the moment for a big night next week.<\/p>\n

Members of Kingaroy State High School’s two singing ensembles, the Vocal Group and Chamber Choir, are preparing for their annual “thank you” concert which will be held at the school next Thursday evening (November 12).<\/p>\n

Conductor Sue Dowideit-Reiger said the students would be performing their major repertoire, which they have been preparing all year, in the school’s Assembly Hall.<\/p>\n

“We would like to invite everyone from the community to come along,” Sue said.<\/p>\n

The performance will start at 6:00pm and should run for about 90 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Entry is by a gold coin donation.<\/p>\n

Sue said that as soon as this concert was over, the choirs would start on their Christmas repertoire.<\/p>\n

They will be singing carols at a number of venues around Kingaroy, including Shoppingworld, at the Kingaroy Town Carols and at Bluecare.<\/p>\n

The singers aren’t the only talented KSHS students busily practising at the moment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Instrumental music students will be presenting a “Masquerade” concert at the Kingaroy Town Hall tonight (November 6).<\/p>\n

The evening will start at 5:30pm with a sausage sizzle in the Kingaroy Town Hall forecourt hosted by the Girl Guides.<\/p>\n

At 6:00pm, free entertainment from the KSHS Stage Band will start in the forecourt.<\/p>\n

The main performance, including pieces by the KSHS Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and Junior Secondary Band, will begin at 6:45pm inside the Town Hall.<\/p>\n

Pre-concert tickets cost $5 per person (or a family pass for $20). Phone KSHS today on (07) 4160-0666 for more information.<\/p>\n

However, tickets will also be available at the door for $8 per head.<\/p>\n
