The Thursday markets held in Kingaroy’s O\u2019Neill Square are under new management and have a new name.<\/p>\n

The weekly markets were created two years ago by sustainable farming group Growing the Burnett, which ceased operating recently.<\/p>\n

From November they will be managed by Boots\u2019n Bulldust – Seeds of Hope and renamed the Makers, Bakers & Growers Market.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organiser Sandy Towell said apart from the new name, which explains what the markets have to offer shoppers, everything else will be remaining the same for the time being, although there are plans afoot to expand the markets in future.<\/p>\n

“The markets will continue to be a place where locals can sell their home-made or home-grown produce so locals can top up their shopping with fresh fruit and vegetables, jams, chutneys and also unique gifts,” Sandy said.<\/p>\n

For lunch time shoppers, there is a coffee van with sandwiches and wraps.<\/p>\n

The popular Reel Pizzas will also be back soon with their freshly-made pizzas.<\/p>\n

“The variety of product is always changing but there is something here for everyone. And with Christmas fast approaching, the markets are also a perfect place to find those unusual and unique gifts,” Sandy said.<\/p>\n

New permanent and casual stall holders are encouraged to contact Rosemary on (07) 4162-3406 or Sandy on 0423-830-224.<\/p>\n

Boots\u2019n Bulldust – Seeds of Hope is a not-for-profit association which supports locals living with depression or mental illness and those at risk of suicide.<\/p>\n

Funds raised from the management of the markets will go towards these objectives.<\/p>\n

The markets are held every Thursday from 12:00 noon to 6.30pm at O\u2019Neill Square on the corner of Haly and King Streets, Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n
