The Kingaroy Aero Modellers open day will be held this Sunday at Booie … so long as it’s not raining.<\/p>\n

“It would be nice to have some rain for the farmers if it fines up for Sunday!” club\u00a0president John Box said.<\/p>\n

Club members have been working hard to prepare everything for the Australian Model Flying Day, which is being held to coincide with other aeromodeller open days around the country.<\/p>\n

Activities will start at 8:30am with a breakfast for club pilots followed by general model flying.<\/p>\n

Official speeches at 10:00am will be followed by morning tea and a sausage sizzle lunch.<\/p>\n

There will be more general flying plus the opportunity for visitors to have a go.<\/p>\n

Flying highlights will include an aerial tow of a model glider by a model tow plane, an electric helicopter display showing manoeuvres that only a model can do, and general flying of a variety of fixed wing aircraft and quadcopters.<\/p>\n

The Kingaroy Aero Modellers will also be officially opening their new upgraded club facilities, which have been sponsored by a grant from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.<\/p>\n

Donations collected on the day will go to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.<\/p>\n
