The re-opening of the Kingaroy Aquatic Centre has been delayed until Wednesday, November 4.<\/p>\n

A South Burnett Regional Council spokesman said the postponement had been caused by the complex nature of the renovations and delays in\u00a0 the supply of materials.<\/p>\n

This had pushed the timeframe for refilling the pool to clash with the essential work at the Gordonbrook Water Treatment Plant which has put Kingaroy under temporary water restrictions.<\/p>\n

Council won’t be\u00a0 able to refill the pool until October 26, when the restrictions are lifted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The pool will take up to 46 hours to fill and a\u00a0 further five to seven days is necessary to treat and obtain a safe chemical balance in the water.<\/p>\n

Pool managers Donna and Joe Dangerfield have been in touch with schools to change swimming school lessons to ensure children do not miss out on their tuition.<\/p>\n

Classes will continue in the heated Learn To Swim Pool throughout the project.<\/p>\n
