If the answer is no, South Burnett residents interested in learning Spanish should get themselves along to the Kingaroy Library.<\/p>\n

Former Argentinian resident Silvia Fletcher, who formerly taught English in the country, has offered to teach Spanish at the Kingaroy Library.<\/p>\n

She began her first class on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

No prior knowledge of the language is required.<\/p>\n

Residents have a choice of two classes: Friday afternoons from 2:00-3:00pm or Saturday mornings starting at 10:00am (the first class is on October 10).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Both classes will be fortnightly and will run for 10 weeks.<\/p>\n

The lessons are for beginners, with no previous knowledge required. Students only require a notebook and pen, and all other material will be provided.<\/p>\n

However, students will be expected to do homework \u2013 both online and offline. Residents can use the library\u2019s free Internet facilities if required.<\/p>\n

The classes will explain the difference between European Spanish and Latin American Spanish and explore the rich history of Spanish and Hispanic culture.<\/p>\n

Lessons will be tailored to students\u2019 individual interests and needs as much as possible.<\/p>\n

South Burnett mayor Wayne Kratzmann said the free language classes were one of many programs available at the Kingaroy Library, including monthly local history mornings, a book club, computer classes, and weekly rhyme time mornings for children and parents.<\/p>\n
