Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner Katarina Carroll APM paid a special visit to Kingaroy on Thursday to present medals to a bunch of very dedicated South Burnett firefighters.<\/p>\n

Firefighters from Blackbutt, Kingaroy, Nanango, Wondai, Kumbia and Yarraman fire stations were presented with “Diligent and Ethical Service” medals, recognising their service to the QFES over a prolonged period\u00a0 through their commitment to “ethical standards, diligence and integrity, as opposed to routine duties and time served”.<\/p>\n

Diligent and Ethical Service Medals were presented to:

Anthony Beutel, Captain – Blackbutt Fire Station
\nLaszlo Horvath, Lieutenant – Blackbutt Fire Station
\nDavid Jones, Firefighter – Blackbutt Fire Station
\nDavid Gersekowski, Firefighter – Blackbutt Fire Station
\nMichael Armstrong, Lieutenant – Kingaroy Fire Station
\nRussell Hood, Lieutenant – Kingaroy Fire Station
\nShane Kratzmann, Firefighter – Kingaroy Fire Station
\nGlen Unverzagt, Captain – Kumbia Fire Station
\nCameron Barritt, Lieutenant – Kumbia Fire Station
\nBradley Perrett, Lieutenant – Nanango Fire Station
\nMurray Dioth, Firefighter – Nanango Fire Station
\nScott Scales, Firefighter – Wondai Fire Station
\nWayne Thompson, Firefighter – Wondai Fire Station
\nTimothy Wyvill, Lieutenant – Yarraman Fire Station<\/p>\n

Absent:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cecil Brown, Captain – Cherbourg Fire Station
\nBrett Holznagel, Firefighter – Murgon Fire Station
\nDale Murray, Lieutenant – Proston Fire Station<\/p>\n

Captain Mark Stallwood (Kingaroy) and Firefighter David Duff (Kingaroy) each received a clasp to their medal for completing another 10 years service subsequent to their initial qualifying service.<\/p>\n

Five QFES members were also presented with National Medals recognising 15 years diligent service:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nTimothy Wyvill, Lieutenant – Yarraman Fire Station

A clasp to the National Medal may be awarded after the completion of each additional 10 years service.<\/p>\n

Captain Roderick Obel (Wooroolin) received his 1st Clasp while Captain Wayne Jeffrey (Wondai) received\u00a0 a 2nd Clasp.<\/p>\n

Commissioner Carroll presented the medals at a special ceremony held at the Kingaroy Town Common Hall.<\/p>\n
