Construction equipment this morning completed demolishing the old brick toilet blocks located on the eastern side of Kingaroy’s Memorial Park.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Regional Council has removed the building to make way for a new $55,000 unisex toilet facility which will be erected over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

The old building had three female and two male toilets blocks and had been a target for vandals over the years. Maintenance was also becoming an issue.<\/p>\n

The new building will have four unisex toilets plus two unisex toilets with wheelchair access.<\/p>\n

Construction will start on October 8. In the meantime, portable toilets have been erected on site.<\/p>\n

Also earmarked for Memorial Park are a fence around the playground area, the construction of a 15m climbing wall, a rotunda and two new picnic tables.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
