Kingaroy residents were treated to the sight of historic aircraft buzzing around the airport last weekend.<\/p>\n

The Australian Warbirds Association staged a fly-in at the airport.<\/p>\n

It\u00a0 just happened to coincide with the Vintage Iron Rally being held next door at Butwell Park, and the Queensland Police Clay Target Club\u2019s two-day trap carnival which was being held on the other side of the airport, so there was no way that the planes were not going to be noticed.<\/p>\n

However, it was not a public display as club members were in Kingaroy only to practise\u00a0formation flying.<\/p>\n

At one stage a pair of biplanes buzzed overhead, followed a minute or so later by a couple of World War II-era piston-engined aircraft.<\/p>\n

On the ground, the pilots wandered around, inspecting each other’s aircraft.<\/p>\n
