This year’s Bloomin’ Beautiful Blackbutt Festival proved the perfect platform to display the talents of photographers from the South Burnett, Oakey and Ipswich.<\/p>\n

Blackbutt Camera Club’s “Photos Galore!” photographic competition, which was run in conjunction with the Festival, was designed to give photographers of all skill levels a category to suit them.<\/p>\n

Entrants ranged in age from 4 years upwards, and all were given the same five basic subjects: Animals; Birds or Insects; People; Photographer’s Choice; and It’s Bloomin’ Beautiful.<\/p>\n

The results were:<\/p>\n

  • Best In Category (Junior):<\/strong> Regi Schumacher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Best Happy Snapper:<\/strong> Denise Tillyer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Best Amateur Photographer:<\/strong> Belinda Kranz<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • Best Intermediate Photographer:<\/strong> Charles Taylor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Best Advanced Photographer:<\/strong> Gerry van Moorsel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Overall Best in Show was won by Belinda Kranz with a wonderful portrait.<\/p>\n

            Congratulations to all winners!<\/p>\n

            Blackbutt Camera Club president Gerry van Moorsel thanked the sponsors – Schuey Brothers Drilling, Q-Gap Blackbutt, Iris Crumpton Civil Marriage Celebrant, Blackbutt Smash Repairs, Kingaroy Photo Lab and Framed With Style – and then thanked all of the entrants for their fantastic images.<\/p>\n

            Judges Margaret O’Grady and Sue Slater said they had a difficult time making their final decisions in almost every category because of the excellent standard of this year’s images.<\/p>\n

            The competition’s raffle winners were:<\/p>\n

              • 2nd Prize:<\/strong> Emeric and Willo – Green 73A<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                • 3rd Prize:<\/strong> – E. Greensill – Yellow 44B<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Blackbutt Camera Club’s next challenge will be hosting the Cliff Krebbs South Burnett Inter Club Print competition. which is being conducted on November 7 in Blackbutt. <\/strong><\/p>\n

                  The South Burnett’s four camera clubs – Murgon, Kingaroy, Nanango and Blackbutt – all put their best images to three judges to vie for the Cliff Krebbs Perpetual Trophy.<\/p>\n

                  The club always welcomes new members, who range from those who have just purchased their first camera to those who are long-time photographers and enjoy sharing their passion.<\/p>\n

                  Meetings are held twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays (except December and January) from 4:00pm.<\/p>\n
