The Federal Government’s latest round of funding for Men’s Sheds is now open.<\/p>\n

Up to $8000 is available for Sheds under Round 11 of the National Shed Development Program.<\/p>\n

Applications close on September 18.<\/p>\n

\u201cMen\u2019s Sheds play a very important role keeping men active and contributing to their mental health and physical well-being,” Member for Wide Bay, Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo provide certainty, the Coalition Government has guaranteed funding for Men\u2019s Sheds for a further three years, through to 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis funding allows Men\u2019s Sheds to maintain their shed, buy new tools or start new projects.”<\/p>\n

Mr Truss said Men\u2019s Sheds helped to combat social isolation, particularly amongst older men living in rural, regional and remote areas.<\/p>\n

Applications for grants are assessed by the Australian Men\u2019s Shed Association, in accordance with guidelines agreed by the Department of Health.<\/p>\n

Grants are awarded on a competitive basis up to $8000 (GST exclusive) with priority given to sheds in disadvantaged areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
