border=\"0\" \/><\/a><strong>September 7, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you love browsing through country markets and you&#8217;re visiting the South Burnett or Cherbourg over the October long weekend, make sure you get to Nanango on Saturday morning, October 3.<\/p>\n<p>Once every month &#8211; on the first Saturday, including public holidays &#8211; the Nanango Showgrounds erupts into life with one of the biggest country markets in south-east Queensland.<\/p>\n<p>The showgrounds are located next to the D&#8217;Aguilar Highway just a few blocks north of Nanango&#8217;s CBD.<\/p>\n<p>Between 6:00am and noon, about 400 stallholders pack them out, offering everything from hot dogs and fairy floss through to arts, crafts, gardening products, tools, car parts&#8230;. you name it, and there&#8217;s probably one, two or up to a dozen different stalls offering it.<\/p>\n<p>The markets have been running for more than 20 years and are a South Burnett icon.<\/p>\n<p>You can walk the grounds for hours inspecting all the different stands, then take a break at the showgrounds&#8217; canteen for tea, coffee, soft drinks &#8230; even breakfast if you need it.<\/p>\n<p>The Nanango Showgrounds are also home to many major events during the course of each year &#8211; everything from the traditional Nanango Show (held each April) through to campdrafts, pony club gymkhanas, the Heritage Nanango Country Music Muster (held each September) and the Waterhole Rocks Rock &amp; Roll Festival (every October).<\/p>\n<p>These events have helped the showgrounds build up great facilities for visitors, including inexpensive powered and unpowered camping sites that are popular with caravanners.<\/p>\n<p>Admission to the Nanango Markets is free and visitors are always
