A 73-year-old Kingaroy man has been airlifted to Nambour Hospital with suspected internal injuries after a crash on the Bunya Highway just north of Memerambi.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred just before 9:30am on Friday.<\/p>\n

Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, from Kingaroy police, said the man was the sole occupant of the Toyota sedan.<\/p>\n

Police investigations into the cause are continuing but at this stage it appears the car negotiated a bend in the highway before heading onto the wrong side of the road, spinning around and flipping. It ended up on its roof.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the vehicle would be inspected to see if a mechanical failure led to the crash.<\/p>\n

The driver was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital and then airlifted by the RACQ CareFlight helicopter.<\/p>\n
