Work on the refurbishment of the Kingaroy RSL Club will begin on September 14, following a vote in the favour of the project by members.<\/p>\n

The six-month, $1 million upgrade of the Tobruk Room was approved by members at a special meeting held at the club last Sunday.<\/p>\n

Club manager Maxine Tessmann said there was a good roll-up at the meeting, and a number of votes were also received beforehand.<\/p>\n

The upgrade will be the first the club has undertaken since it renovated the main interior area in 2003.<\/p>\n

Plans for the project have been displayed in the club foyer.<\/p>\n

The upgrade will improve internal access to the Tobruk Room by demolishing the existing bar and introducing a ramp to provide disabled access.<\/p>\n

The brick wall on the car park side of the room will be replaced with floor-to-ceiling glass windows which will allow more natural light to enter.<\/p>\n

A children\u2019s playroom and a new outdoor beer garden will be built near the room\u2019s entry doors.<\/p>\n

The kitchen servery area will also be upgraded and a new bar built.<\/p>\n

The room\u2019s toilets will be discreetly shielded by a privacy screen, and a unisex disabled toilet added to the existing male and female facilities.<\/p>\n

Work is expected to be finished by the end of next March.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
