Wondai Lions Club is keen for the town to live up to its “friendly town ” reputation – a title it has won in several Tidy Towns competitions.<\/p>\n

The Lions Club is organising a free meet’n’greet afternoon tea to allow all residents of Wondai and Proston to mingle, chat and get to know each other.<\/p>\n

Former Wondai Mayor Percy Iszlaub said that in the past meet’n’greet afternoons had been organised for new residents to town, but this time it was hoped even long-term residents would come along.<\/p>\n

He said it was all about “communication”, people talking to each other.<\/p>\n

Invitations have also been sent to local community groups.<\/p>\n

Percy said the Meet’n’Greet would be held from 2:00pm to 4:30pm on Saturday, October 24, at the Wondai Lions Club pavilion at the Wondai Sportsground.<\/p>\n

He said the event would be free but the Lions Club would probably put out a bucket for voluntary gold coin donations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
