Nanango State School was today named a State finalist in the 2015 Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools.<\/p>\n

The school was one of 19 named by Education Minister Kate Jones.<\/p>\n

Ms Jones said the finalists would compete for State titles in six categories. The winners will be announced on World Teachers\u2019 Day, October 30.<\/p>\n

Nanango State School was named a finalist in the Showcase Award for Excellence in the Early and Primary Years for its “Building A Champion School” project.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The other finalists in this category are Camira State School for “Culture Is The Key”; and Yarrilee State School for “Warming Up To Numbers”.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to all State finalists for their achievement in this 16th<\/sup> year of Queensland\u2019s most prestigious awards for State School excellence,\u201d Ms Jones said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing selected from a total of 112 entries which were then narrowed to 32 regional award winners is a remarkable achievement.<\/p>\n

\u201cQueenslanders can be rightly proud of their State schools, as shown by the outstanding quality of each of these 19 finalists.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Jones said each State finalist had won a $7500 development grant to help them continue to deliver the best for Queensland students.<\/p>\n
