Kingaroy Ambulance Station is about to receive two new ambulances, the Local Ambulance Committee AGM was told on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge Adam Flory said the local fleet had been reshuffled to meet demand and maintain consistency.<\/p>\n

It will now consist of three twin-stretcher vehicles (one due to arrive on Friday), two single-stretcher vehicles (with one new vehicle arriving during the next four weeks) and a 4WD troop carrier.<\/p>\n

Local Ambulance Committee (LAC) president John Box said the committee had raised funds and donated a new display cupboard, valued at $3990, for the station and several anatomy and physiology models for paramedic education valued at $2700.<\/p>\n

“We have also committed to providing $2500 for text books,” Mr Box said.<\/p>\n

The LAC has also been active in the local community, holding a “Decorate a Donut” week fundraiser in Kingaroy Shoppingworld with paramedics carrying out free blood pressure checks on passing shoppers.<\/p>\n

“The Rotary Club of Kingaroy conducted one of their weekly meetings at the station and listened to presentations. They then went on a tour of the station and asked plenty of questions,” Mr Box said.<\/p>\n

“Members attended Peer CPR Awareness Training and participated in presentations for Grade 9 students and parents at St John’s Lutheran School and a special presentation for SB Care clients at the station and look forward to further presentations for community groups.”<\/p>\n

The current LAC committee was re-elected at the AGM: President John Box, Vice-President Debbie Jackson, Treasurer Sharon Leach and Secretary Christine Box.<\/p>\n
