Blue Care is warning people against giving out personal and financial information over the telephone.<\/p>\n

Executive Director Robyn Batten said Blue Care had received reports that someone impersonating a Blue Care worker had made phone calls to Blue Care clients asking for their personal bank details.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe clients knew to end the calls and reported it to our staff immediately, however it is important all our clients and the wider community are aware of these calls and take all precautions,\u201d Ms Batten said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeveral clients have been contacted in the past few days in the Wynnum area of Brisbane and now Toowoomba by someone asking for their personal and bank details.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are reminding our clients and the community to please not give your personal details to people you don’t know.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you get a call from someone claiming to be from your bank or any other organisation, don’t give them your details. Instead, end the call, and then call the organisation in question to check it is really them calling.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you think that you\u2019ve accidentally given out too much information check your bank statements carefully, and if you see anything unusual please contact the police, as well as your bank, credit card provider or super fund immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n
