There was a special celebration at Taabinga State School’s morning assembly on Friday … a big “thank you” to groundsman Lindsay Kath.<\/p>\n

Lindsay has been looking after all the minor maintenance (“kids tend to break things!”), gardens and mowing at the school for an incredible 25 years.<\/p>\n

He believes he may be only the third groundsman the school has had.<\/p>\n

“The last guy was here for 16 years. We tend to stay here for a while,” he said.<\/p>\n

“The kids are really good and it’s a good-sized school now.”<\/p>\n

Lindsay was presented with anniversary cards by the students and a special Certificate of Service from Education Queensland.<\/p>\n
