With Spring now little more than a month away, it’s probably time to dust off your jousting lance, sharpen your sword blades and remove any rust that’s built up on your battle axe.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, August 8 the Nanango Medieval Fayre will be returning to take you on a journey into the dark ages of medieval mayhem.<\/p>\n

The free all-day Fayre will be running in George Street, Nanango next to the Nanango Cultural Centre; at the nearby Winds Of Change Art Gallery across the road; and in all available spaces in between.<\/p>\n

Guests will be able to experience the excitement of living history with live re-enactments of Viking heavy fighting, a public witch trail, boffer fighting, archery and market stalls.<\/p>\n

The Fayre will also be offering puppet making, shield making, flower garland making and many other fun activities for children.<\/p>\n

And the public are welcome to come dressed in their best medieval attire to participate in the Fayre’s fashion parade and best dressed competition.<\/p>\n

But if all your best medieval clobber is currently at the dry-cleaners, costumes are also on sale at the Winds of Change Gallery to ensure you blend into the crowd.<\/p>\n

At day\u2019s end, the merriment will continue with an authentic medieval feast at the Nanango Cultural Centre.<\/p>\n

For $35 a head, guests can tuck into an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring roast pork, lamb shanks, chicken drumsticks, crispy roast potatoes, crusty breads and delicious desserts while being entertained by Celtic dancers, belly dancers and many other delights.<\/p>\n

There’ll also be a licensed bar stocking all the usual treats, plus medieval cider and mead.<\/p>\n

Tickets to the Medieval Feast can be obtained at the Winds Of Change Gallery or by phoning 0409-060-315.<\/p>\n
