Blackbutt’s Butt Art Gallery is located right next to the Blackbutt Bakery, and has become a popular tourist attraction in its own right<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Gallery will be holding a Wine and Cheese night on Monday, July 20<\/figcaption><\/figure> July 16, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

The long-standing Butt Arts Gallery in Coulson Street, Blackbutt, recently changed its operating structure.<\/p>\n

The Gallery was originally established as an artists’ collective but several months ago it turned itself into an incorporated not-for-profit association.<\/p>\n

This was to help ensure that the group – and its gallery, which has become a popular tourist attraction in Blackbutt – would be able to continue to provide a retail outlet for Timbertowns and South Burnett artists long into the future.<\/p>\n

And now, like many community groups, the group is looking for volunteers to welcome visitors to the Gallery during opening hours (seven days per week, 9:00am to 4:00pm).<\/p>\n

Volunteers must be over 18, mature, reliable and have a passion for the arts.<\/p>\n

They would welcome visitors to the Gallery, and they’d be trained in the Gallery’s procedures and sales.<\/p>\n

Gallery president Graeme Bates said the positions would be ideally suited to retired or semi-retired people who were wondering what to do with their spare time.<\/p>\n

“We have 16 talented artists on display in the Gallery at any time, so there’s always plenty to do and plenty to learn, and it’s a very relaxed and friendly environment,” he said.<\/p>\n

Alternately, if you’d like to meet the people and artists who form the new Butt Arts Gallery Inc, the group will be holding a Wine & Cheese Night on Monday, July 20.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This fun event will kick off at the Gallery at 6:00pm and will feature tastings and sales of Moffatdale Ridge Wines and a great range of cheeses.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann will be a special guest speaker.<\/p>\n

There’ll be live entertainment from Noel McGrath and a belly dancing display, too.<\/p>\n

Guests can also get to meet the Gallery’s artists and enjoy the diverse range of art on display, including pottery, jewellery, photography, leather work and fine art in all mediums.<\/p>\n

Entry is by gold coin donation (which includes a ticket in the lucky door prize draw) and everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n
