A painting donated to Wondai Garden Club by South Burnett artist Robyn Dower has been presented to the Wondai Diggers Club as “it would have been a sacrilege to raffle it”.<\/p>\n

Robyn’s portrait of a World War I Australian Light Horsemen formed the heart of an Anzac Centenary display mounted by the garden club at the Autumn Garden Expo in Wondai in April.<\/p>\n

Wondai & District Garden Club president Peter Biltoft said handing over the painting to the Wondai Diggers was the highlight of his time as president.<\/p>\n

He said it would have been sacrilege to have raffled the painting, and it deserved to be on display where people could appreciate it.<\/p>\n

Diggers Club director Wally Knight accepted the painting which he said was “absolutely beautiful”.<\/p>\n
