July 7, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nanango Tourism and Development Association will be taking a bus trip to heritage-listed Jimbour House on Saturday, July 25. And South Burnett opera lovers are invited to join them.<\/p>\n

The trip’s purpose will be to take in a performance of Johann Strauss\u2019 famous operetta Die Fledermaus.<\/p>\n

This much-loved tale of hidden identity, deception and revenge will be part of an Opera At Jimbour day presented by OperaQ as part of this year’s Queensland Music Festival.<\/p>\n

Before the performance starts, OperaQ will turn the paddock in front of the Jimbour Amphitheatre into the world\u2019s biggest ballroom and offer waltzing lessons.<\/p>\n

A Champagne Bar will be operating, and there’ll be an assortment of food and drink vendors on site to satisfy your hunger, or you can bring along your own picnic basket (though strictly no BYO alcohol or glass).<\/p>\n

Roving entertainers and a colourful array of market stalls displaying and selling local arts and produce will also dot the grounds.<\/p>\n

Opera At Jimbour days usually attract an audience of thousands, spread out on the lawns on chairs or blankets.<\/p>\n

NaTDA are running the trip to Jimbour as a fundraiser for their group, and a Bellingham’s Coach will leave the South Burnett Energy Centre in Henry Street, Nanango at 9:00am on the day and return in the late afternoon after the operetta is over.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $25 return, and there is no charge to attend the opera.<\/p>\n
