Nanango musician Chrissy Lauder’s latest CD began after a music workshop she attended in Murgon.<\/p>\n

Back in 2011, well-known Aussie musos Kev Carmody, Clare Bowditch and Dave Faulkner held a song-writing workshop as part of the Queensland Music Festival.<\/p>\n

Chrissy attended and met fellow Nanango musician Tony “Mr Q” Cisneros.<\/p>\n

The workshop and Tony’s encouragement eventually led to the creation of Chrissy’s new seven-track CD “Landing”, which was officially launched at The Shed in Nanango on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Chrissy moved to Nanango about 12 years ago but had been singing professionally for about 30 years before that.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She said the musicians in Nanango were “very inclusive”.<\/p>\n

“They love to share the music,” she said. “They’re not precious about their music or their art. That’s a spirit I really love to experience and enjoy.”<\/p>\n

She said to create a CD, a singer\/songwriter had to have determination, the right musicians and funding.<\/p>\n

At times during the process, she could have become “stuck”, but that is where the support of people such as Tony Cisneros had helped so much.<\/p>\n

The initial “guide” tracks for the CD were recorded at Tony’s Phantom Studios in Nanango before it was finished at the Sunshine Coast with a group of musicians Chrissy has worked with before.<\/p>\n
