It\u2019s not uncommon to see siblings play in the same sporting team … but being able to play in the same team as your mother or father is very special.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy has many of these pairings and I believe it’s a unique situation.<\/p>\n

But it’s also something the club is very proud of and actively encourages.<\/p>\n

Many parents would give an arm and a leg to be able to share the joy of winning, the anguish of losing and the thrill of playing sport in the same team as their children.<\/p>\n

Football is one of the sports where this can happen … and it’s really a family game in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Steve, Jacob and Joseph Copas all play for Gunners, while daughter Rachel plays for Gunnettes.<\/p>\n

Brendan and Jack Kelly play for Gunners, too.<\/p>\n

Wests have Mauro and Jay Buzzo, with daughter Tess playing for Wests Women.<\/p>\n

Other father-son and mother-daughter combinations at Wests include Rob and Alex Firman; Scott and Callum Tucker, Russ and Riley Hutfield; Gary and Daniel Favier; Bryan, Toni and Natalia Phillips-Petersen; Tracey and Sammi Lee, Michelle and Hayley Hunter; and Kerrie and Courtney Thompson.<\/p>\n

There is also Reneau Lanham who plays for Wests Women, while son Aidan Penfound plays for the men.<\/p>\n

And at Barambah, Brad, Sarah and Aaron Vanderkolk are one strong family partnership, while Brice and Ayden Connolly are another.<\/p>\n
