Competition from other local supermarkets has been blamed for the imminent closure of the Kingaroy Foodworks supermarket.<\/p>\n

Owner Phadara Chiv told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> today that he bought the business 10 years ago but he would be closing it for good on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

He said there was now just too much local competition to keep it going.<\/p>\n

Phadara said he would like to say a big thank you to the people of Kingaroy who have supported Foodworks over the years.<\/p>\n

The closure will mean the loss of about 10 jobs.<\/p>\n

Phadara said there was a “half-price” sale for the last two days to clear the shelves.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingaroy Foodworks will be open from 7:00am to 5:00pm on Thursday and 7:00am to 3:00pm on Friday (June 25-26).<\/p>\n
