Wondai\u2019s team were Alwyn Litzow (Skip), Brad Cecil, Peter Ward and Andrew Olsen (Photo: Jim Bond)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bowls-news2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-97005\" title=\"bowls-news2\" src=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bowls-news2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bowls-news2.jpg 210w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bowls-news2-175x300.jpg 175w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 210px) 100vw, 210px\" \/><\/a><strong>June 22, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>by Jim Bond<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Men\u2019s Fours Champions from clubs throughout the Burnett rolled up at Yarraman on the weekend to try for the title of District Champions.<\/p>\n<p>The honour for 2015 goes to the Wondai club, who won through three very tough rounds to clinch the flag.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday they defeated Kingaroy 19-17 in the quarter-final, and Binjour by a similar margin in the semi-final.<\/p>\n<p>And in a thriller final on Sunday, they defeated Murgon 20-16.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday\u2019s match started late because of a heavy dew on the green.<\/p>\n<p>Wondai won the toss but were slow away, down five-nil after four ends.<\/p>\n<p>But they worked out the &#8220;grass&#8221; and quickly caught up to make a real match of it from there.<\/p>\n<p>There were plenty of touchers on the green and a lot of &#8220;ooohs&#8221; and &#8220;aaahs&#8221; from the gallery.<\/p>\n<p>The scoreboard showed 13-all at 13 ends; then 14-all at 15 ends; and then 16-15 at 17 ends.<\/p>\n<p>Some very tight ends almost needed a micrometer to gain a decision.<\/p>\n<p>Wondai really applied the pressure from there, and despite some solid drives by Murgon skip Aaron Jones Wondai took the Final 20-16.<\/p>\n<p>District Reps Geoff Gees, Glen Yeates and Alex Barsby were there to watch the Final result and to announce the draw for further District contests; from Murgon Skip Aaron Jones after Wondai scored a close 20-16 win in the Final of the Burnett District Men&#8217;s Four Championships played at Yarraman over the weekend (Photo: Jim Bond)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Kingaroy News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>It was a big day at Kingaroy last Sunday: Sponsored Rotational Triples, with forty bowlers on the greens.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The match was sponsored by club members Danny Holligan and Richie Patterson.<\/p>\n<p>While the winning team was determined by the team with the highest winning margin, the playing conditions were unique.<\/p>\n<p>Each team consisted of three players, and each player changed his\/her playing position every 7 ends, with a total of 21 ends being played.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners: Darcy Munro, Graham Heaton and Diane Reed &#8211; margin 18<\/li>\n<li>Runners Up: Dave Little, Annette O&#8217;Brien and Richie Patterson &#8211; margin 10.<\/li>\n<li>Third: Fred Keding, Barry O&#8217;Brien and Errol Dionysius &#8211; margin 8<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>On Sunday, 12 teams contested the ever popular Jackpot Pairs 2 bowl competition in near perfect conditions. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each team played two eighteen end games.<\/p>\n<p>The overall winners were determined by the amount of games won plus the combined margins.<\/p>\n<p>While there was a number of closely fought games there were only two teams who managed 2 wins<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners: Alan Irwin and Ray MacLaren &#8211;
