Australian guitar legend Phil Emmanuel has performed on stage with the some of the greats of the music industry – from James Morrison and Don Burrows to Dolly Parton and Lee Kernaghan.<\/p>\n

He’s also recorded a string of solo albums as well as collaborations with his younger brother Tommy, and both have been inducted into the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

Phil also played alongside Tommy, INXS, Vanessa Amorosi, Savage Garden and Midnight Oil at the closing ceremony for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.<\/p>\n

At the recent Goomeri Pumpkin Festival he was wowing crowds at the packed Grand Hotel at Goomeri.<\/p>\n

Now he’s coming to Kingaroy and will be appearing on stage later this month with two local favourites, Mr Q and Too Ezy.

\nPhil was born into a musical family and along with his younger brother Tommy were considered child prodigies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

By the age of nine, he was already working as a professional musician in the family band. Phil played lead guitar and Tommy played rhythm, along with their brother Chris on drums and their sister Virginia on slide guitar.<\/p>\n

After Phil’s father died, the Emmanuel family was approached by Australian country music star Buddy Williams, who took them on the road.<\/p>\n

Phil’s Kingaroy gig will be at the Commercial Hotel on Saturday, June 20.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $10 if pre-bought or $15 at the door on the night.<\/p>\n
