The South Burnett Regional Council will soon be operating transfer stations at the Brigooda and Cloyna Waste Facilities.<\/p>\n

From June 15, local residents will place their waste into skip bins at the newly constructed waste transfer stations instead of into a land trench.<\/p>\n

These transfer stations have been established as part of the Council\u2019s commitment to providing long-term waste management solutions for residents, as outlined in the Council’s Waste Management Plan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new transfer stations will provide a clean and safe way for residents to dispose of their household waste,\u201d Waste portfolio holder Cr Ros Heit said.<\/p>\n

Opening hours and the types of waste that can be left at the Brigooda and Cloyna Waste facilities remain the same.<\/p>\n

Commercial, industrial and bulk waste cannot be left at either of the facilities.<\/p>\n

Similar waste transfer stations are expected to become operational at Durong and Hivesville within the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

The waste transfer station upgrades are being funded through a $500,000 loan from Queensland Treasury drawn down in April this year as part of the Council’s 2014-2015 borrowing program.<\/p>\n
