A former Kingaroy resident is lucky to have escaped injury when his double scull rowing boat and a CityCat ferry collided on the Brisbane River on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old former St Mary’s student – who has asked not to be named – was rowing with a colleague near West End about 6:15am when the incident occurred near the Guyatt Park ferry terminal.<\/p>\n

The double scull was sliced through the middle, flinging the two young men into the river.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, they were not injured. They were then taken on board the CityCat.<\/p>\n

An investigation has begun into how the ferry and the scull collided.<\/p>\n

Maritime Safety Queensland and Queensland Water Police are investigating.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
