A new face in town: Dylan Long and dad Gary behind the counter of The Murgon Butcher at 108 Lamb Street; the butchery also stocks seafoods<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The long-established Gotta Be Meat butcher shop at 108 Lamb Street in Murgon has a new name, some new faces behind the counter, and some great new products for customers.<\/p>\n

Dylan Long and Yolande Bligh recently took over the business from former owners Charlie and Linda Steel and Dan McLean.<\/p>\n

Dylan comes from a long line of butchers.<\/p>\n

His grandparents, Betty and Red Long, owned a butcher shop on Bribie Island and that was where his dad, Gary, did his apprenticeship.<\/p>\n

And Dylan’s grandparents on his mother’s side – Allan and Norma Burmester – owned the Wandoan Abbatoir and butcher shop.<\/p>\n

Dylan completed his apprenticeship there and later went on to run the business for the family.<\/p>\n

The meat industry connections don’t end there, either – extended family members also run butcher shops at Caboolture and Ningi.<\/p>\n

But now the young couple are excited to be venturing into self employment.<\/p>\n

A lot of locals already know them, and have come to enjoy Dylan’s warm and friendly greeting when they step into the shop.<\/p>\n

The new Murgon Butcher shop’s motto is “quality produce and friendly service”.<\/p>\n

Along with a huge range of lamb, pork, beef, veal and chickens, the shop also stocks a good selection of seafood.<\/p>\n

The Murgon Butcher also produce gourmet sausages, pre-prepared meals and wood-smoked smallgoods.<\/p>\n
