Kingaroy’s incredible Josie Potter is doing it again in just a few weeks time … riding in the 2015 Brissie to the Bay Ride to raise funds for MS Queensland, that is.<\/p>\n

She’s incredible because Josie has multiple sclerosis herself, and it will be the fifth time she has entered the ride.<\/p>\n

She even managed to complete a 25km ride last year while still recovering from an aneurysm and a stroke!<\/p>\n

Last week her incredible story was recognised by MS Queensland at Ipswich mayor Paul Pisasale’s “Living Positively With MS” afternoon tea.<\/p>\n

Four years ago Mayor Pisasale inspired the MS community by sharing his own MS story, and since then he has encouraged others to share their experiences about about how they, too, are living positively with MS.<\/p>\n

Josie was selected as this year’s “Living Positively” life story, which will be featured on the MS Queensland website and in the winter edition of the MS Life magazine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Josie is also the captain of the “Kingaroy\u00a0Cruisers” team which has been taking part in the annual MS fundraising ride for six years.<\/p>\n

Currently there are 31 members in the team, but Josie would love to have more!<\/p>\n

Brissie to the Bay, on June 21, consists of four courses: a 10km, 25km, 50km and 100km ride, all starting at Musgrave Park.<\/p>\n

Its the 25th anniversary of the fundraiser more than 9000 riders are expected to take part this year.<\/p>\n

In 2011, Josie rode the 10km route, in 2012 it was 25km, and in 2013 she made 50km.<\/p>\n

In 2014, after the stroke and aneurysm, she was back to 25km and she admitted afterwards that she had struggled, especially with the hills.<\/p>\n

This year, she’s nominated for the 50km course.<\/p>\n

Josie says she has been training hard, tackling hills she had never even thought about tackling before, and has even taken part in a mini-triathlon.<\/p>\n

She said local businesses had been generous in sponsoring new racing jerseys for the team this year, but she was still looking for more personal sponsors and is busy selling raffle tickets as another fundraiser.<\/p>\n

Copies of the jersey can be purchased at Struddys Sports in Kingaroy, with proceeds from the sales go to MS Queensland.<\/p>\n

If you would like to support Josie’s efforts at fundraising for MS, she will be selling raffle tickets at Big W, in Kingaroy Shoppingworld, from 8:30am to 12:30pm on Saturday (May 30).<\/strong><\/p>\n
