The epic musical Les Mis\u00e9rables is coming to the South Burnett, or at least some of the marvellous music from the famous production is.<\/p>\n

The Esk Community Choir will be presenting songs from “Les Mis” in Blackbutt next month.<\/p>\n

The choir was established in 1978 and has a close relationship with the Blackbutt Singers.<\/p>\n

Members of the Blackbutt group have travelled on overseas tours with the Esk choir on at least four occasions.<\/p>\n

The Esk group performed their “Excerpts In Concert” from Les Mis\u00e9rables on May 2 to a packed house at the Somerset Civic Centre in Esk.<\/p>\n

Maree Hammond, from the Blackbutt Singers, saw the production and was blown away.<\/p>\n

“It was so brilliant, they put an awful lot of work into it,” she said.<\/p>\n

They have now been invited by the Blackbutt Singers to stage a special repeat performance on June 20 at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall.<\/p>\n

Adults are $18, pensioners $15 and children $5.<\/p>\n
