A trail bike rider suffering serious injuries was winched out of thick bushland on Sunday morning in a delicate operation by the RACQ CareFlight helicopter team.<\/p>\n

The Sunshine Coast-based rescue helicopter was called just before 11:00am to assist the man, who had been injured while riding with friends in the Imbil State Forest.<\/p>\n

The chopper pilot had to carefully land on a narrow weir to pick up the man’s friend who directed the crew to the injured man.<\/p>\n

Once overhead, the crew winched the CareFlight doctor and a QAS Intensive Care Flight Paramedic down through the thick forest canopy to the scene.<\/p>\n

The male rider, in his late forties, suffered leg, chest and arm injuries.<\/p>\n

He was stabilised and airlifted in a stretcher into the helicopter.<\/p>\n
