Two elderly people from Wondai were taken to hospital for observation after a three-vehicle pile-up in Youngman Street, Kingaroy, on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Police said the 71-year-old woman driver and her 80-year-old male passenger were heading into Kingaroy when they apparently slowed as they approached the intersection with Albert Street.<\/p>\n

The vehicle behind, a Toyota sedan driven by a 19-year-old Wondai man, also slowed, however the driver of an Isuzu Pantech truck following appears to have failed to notice the cars ahead were braking.<\/p>\n

The truck hit the rear of the Toyota, pushing it into a stationwagon with the elderly pair on board.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred just before 11:00am.<\/p>\n

A 36-year-old Oakey man has been issued with a $265 ticket for following too closely to another vehicle.<\/p>\n

A wind gust has been blamed for an incident which wrecked a caravan on the Wide Bay Highway near Goomeri on Monday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The large van, being towed by a 4WD with a family of four on board, jack-knifed sending the 4WD sliding into a ditch on the side of the road.<\/p>\n

No one was injured but one lane of the Wide Bay Highway was closed until the wreckage could be removed.<\/p>\n

A woman driver escaped serious injury when her vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree on the Wide Bay Highway on Tuesday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police were called to the incident, which occurred not far from the Kimbombi Road turn-off, about 7:55am.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
