A fight over a woman has been blamed for an incident which saw two men removed by police from the bus home from the Burrandowan Picnic Races on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The pair, a 28-year-old Nanango man and a 19-year-old Kingaroy man, have both been issued infringement notices for being a public nuisance.<\/p>\n

Police allege the men became involved in an altercation on the bus and then became abusive to other passengers.<\/p>\n

“Alcohol was obviously involved compounded by an argument over a female,” Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, from Kingaroy police, said.<\/p>\n

When the men had settled down they were put on a later bus home.<\/p>\n

Two more people on their way home from Burrandowan on Sunday morning have been charged with drink-driving<\/strong><\/p>\n

At 7:30am, a police RBT patrol stopped a Kingaroy driver on the Kingaroy-Burrandowan Road. He allegedly had a BAC of .069. It was also the man’s 21st birthday …<\/p>\n

Then at about 10:00am, police tested a 53-year-old Kingaroy driver on the same road. He allegedly blew .086 BAC.<\/p>\n

Police allege they found a illegal and controlled drugs when they searched a house in Murray Parade, Kingaroy, on Friday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Duane Frank said amphetamines, cannabis, pseudoephedrine and other restricted drugs were located along with drug scales and drug utensils.<\/p>\n

However, the person police wished to speak to was not at home.<\/p>\n

The following day a 36-year-old woman came to the Kingaroy Police Station. She has been charged with 12 drug-related offences, including possessing dangerous drugs and possessing restricted drugs.<\/p>\n

She appeared briefly in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Monday and has been remanded in custody until May 25.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/center><\/h3>\n

Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash which occurred on the corner of Coolabunia Road and the D’Aguilar Highway at Coolabunia on Saturday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Initial reports suggest an 82-year-old man driving a Toyota Hilux failed to give way to an Hyundai sedan on the highway which was being driven by a 45-year-old woman. <\/p>\n

An 18-year-old passenger in the Hyundai was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital with neck pain and for assessment. The Hyundai suffered extensive damage.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/center><\/h3>\n

Fire brigade and police were called at 1:00am on Sunday after a vehicle caught fire in a shed near a home in Moonya Street, Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fire was contained to a Holden Captiva and it was determined the fire was not suspicious, probably starting from an electrical fault in the vehicle.<\/p>\n

A 43-year-old man has been charged with drink-driving after he was pulled over for a random breath test in Knight Street, Kingaroy, on Thursday afternoon. He allegedly blew .088 BAC.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/center><\/h3>\n

Work is progressing well on the new Kingaroy Police Station and Watchhouse.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Scenes of Crime building has already be relocated to its new position and site preparation started for the new Watchhouse building, which will contain multiple cells.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy police will move into temporary facilities in the Artie Kerr Building in Kingaroy Street later this year to allow their current building to be demolished.<\/p>\n

At this stage, it is estimated the new facilities will be ready in September or October 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
