Anzac Day commemorations in the South Burnett aren’t just confined to the larger population centres … just about every township or village also marks the day with pride.<\/p>\n

Extra efforts were made this year because of the Gallipoli Centenary.<\/p>\n

In Wooroolin, the traditional parade down the highway was followed by a service in the Memorial Hall with a guest speaker, live music and choir presentations.<\/p>\n

The Roll of Honour was also read and wreaths placed at the front of the stage.<\/p>\n

Ceremonies were also held at Proston and Boondooma, Maidenwell, Hivesville, Kumbia, Bunya Mountains and Cooyar.<\/p>\n

After the children’s march from Frederick Street turned onto the highway, the adults’ march, led by the Wondai Town Band, marched from outside the Grand Hotel onto the highway … the marching veterans received a loud round of applause from onlookers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
