Police have confirmed the deaths of four people after an incident on Beerburrum Road, Caboolture, on Friday evening.<\/p>\n

About 5:30pm, police received information that a vehicle had been swept away by flood waters.<\/p>\n

Investigations revealed two separate vehicles had actually been swept away by flood waters during the same incident.<\/p>\n

A man believed to be in his 70s, a woman in her 30s and an eight-year-old boy – all in the first vehicle – died at the scene.<\/p>\n

The second vehicle contained three people.\u00a0 Two passengers, a 21-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy, managed to escape the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The driver, a 49-year-old man, was initially unable to be located and police and emergency services searched overnight for him.<\/p>\n

His body was located about 6:00am on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Police investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n

Caboolture received 360mm of rain between 9:00am Friday and 9:00am Saturday.<\/p>\n
