Here&#8217;s how things played out:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Round One:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dave Barwick and Kev Raffin def. Lester Newman and Trevor Turner 27-18<\/li>\n<li>Malcolm MacLeod and Glen Turner def. John Lacey and Ray Maclaren 24-11<\/li>\n<li>Eric Ford and Alan Irwin 21 def. Dave Clapperton and John Coppard 21-14<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Quarter Finals:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Errol Dionysius and Danny Holligan def. Troy Schultz and Greg Schulz 29-25<\/li>\n<li>Harry Read and Geoff Clutterbuck def. Paul Marychurch and Bob Robinson 18-12<\/li>\n<li>Paul Geritz and Richie Patterson def. Dave Barwick and Kev Raffin 29-15<\/li>\n<li>Malcolm MacLeod and Glen Turner def. Eric Ford and Alan Irwin 30-10<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Semi-Finals:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paul Geritz and Richie Patterson def Harry Read and Geoff Clutterbuck 25-17<\/li>\n<li>Errol Dionysius and Danny Holligan 28 def. Malcolm MacLeod and Glen Turner 28-14<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The two in-form teams of the championship &#8211; Errol Dionysius and Danny Holligan, and Paul Geritz and Richie Patterson &#8211; met in the final.<\/p>\n<p>Geritz and Patterson jumped away to a quick start, and after 6 ends led by 8 shots to 4.<\/p>\n<p>They maintained their lead until the 12th end where the scoreboard changed: a four gave Dionysius and Holligan a one shot lead, 12 to 11.<\/p>\n<p>The next four ends saw the dynamic duo dominate and extend their lead 27 to 11.<\/p>\n<p>And steady play after that saw them run out comfortable winners 31 to 16<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Last Sunday the popular Triples competition catered for those not in the championships:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fred Keding, Gladys Slatter and Col Kratzmann def. Col McBride, Val Jeppesen and Ray Maclaren 22-15<\/li>\n<li>Marj Moore, Geoff Clutterbuck and John Coppard 27 def. Des Richards, Maureen Semgreen and Beryl Woods 27-11<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And on Cheap Tuesday, the match of interest was between Maree Millard, Geoff Clutterbuck and Dave Barwick who defeated Alex Callender, Erris Vale and Bob Robinson 16-10.<\/p>\n<p>Wenesday was a big day, with thirty two players on the green for Sue\u2019s Trophy Day &#8211; a farewell to long-time employee Sue Eggleton, who is leaving for greener pastures in Oakey.<\/p>\n<p>Sue generously donated trophies for the day&#8217;s bowls, and a pleasant day was had by all.<\/p>\n<p>Tributes and well wishes for Sue were numerous throughout the day, too.<\/p>\n<p>The winners were Peter Taylor, Marj Moore, Col Kratzmann and Diane Reed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Results:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peter Taylor, Marj Moore, Col Kratzmann and Diane Reed def. Fred Keding, Lindy Clutterbuck, Richie Patterson and Val Jeppesen 23-22<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On Thursday, in Triples, twenty four players took to the greens to participate in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>The weather conditions were ideal and the green was running at a slick pace, however most players quickly adapted and good bowls were played.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Results:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bevan Askew, Barry O&#8217;Brien and Col Kratzmann def. Des Richards, Lyle Dascombe and Alan Irwin 25-13<\/li>\n<li>Keith Kratzmann, Geoff Clutterbuck and Errol Dionysius def. Darcy Munro, Bob Bougoure and Hugh Harrison 23-18<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Nanango News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Friday of last week, in Scroungers, there was some high scoring. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The best results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lew Saunders 95<\/li>\n<li>Josh Fisher 85<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Saturday saw the monthly clash between Nanango and Yarraman, and it was a home game in Nanango.<\/p>\n<p>The format was Self Selected Triples, with conditions two for an end and five for a win.<\/p>\n<p>The visitors grabbed bragging rights with one of their teams scoring a close win on points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>George Wolski, Nev Lawrence and Brian Dugdell &#8211; 36 pts + 29<\/li>\n<li>Heather Carr, Greg Pogson and Allan Carr &#8211; 36 pts +24<\/li>\n<li>Lynn Halliday, Sue Tucker and Brian Havell &#8211; 33 pts<\/li>\n<li>Bev Profke, Kev Profke and Helene Johnson &#8211; 30 pts<br \/>\n&lt;li<\/li>\n<li>Bob Hammond, Bob Hall and Allan Ward &#8211; 26.5 pts<\/li>\n<li>Chris, John Beattie and Neil Johnson &#8211; 18.5 pts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On Tuesday in the Mens Social, conditions were one for an end and four for a win:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bob Hammond, Trevor Ward and Jim Fowler &#8211; 21 pts<\/li>\n<li>Brian Havell and Henry Bliesner &#8211; 16 pts<\/li>\n<li>John McConnell and Mike Wyvill &#8211; 16 pts<\/li>\n<li>Lew Saunders, Trevor George and Allan Ward &#8211; 11 pts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The club&#8217;s Championship A Grade Singles math attracted a bit of interest, with Bob Hall ultimately defeating Cec Bracken 25-12.<\/p>\n<p>Ladies Social Play was held on Wednesday, with Lindy Stevenson and Julie Saunder drawing with Kneller Sultor and June McKee 15-all<\/p>\n<p>Another game on the Ladies Championships calendar was also played: an A Grade Singles clash which saw Sue Tucker defeat Evelyn Jensen 25-10.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Yarraman News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Both the Ladies\u2019 and the Men\u2019s clubs are moving quietly along on their Championship calendar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, the Ladies played two A Singles quarter-finals games:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kay Dugdell scored a comfortable win over Sandra Currell 25-12<\/li>\n<li>Glenda Wolski defeated Eunice Smith 25-17<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Men\u2019s club held the first of their semi-finals on Friday afternoon, and there were quite a few in the gallery for this one.<\/p>\n<p>Bill Holmes played Merv Fitch, and Bill got away to a good start, leading 9-3 after eight ends.<\/p>\n<p>With his confidence up, he then kept the pressure on Merv for the rest of the match and ran out a comfortable winner 26-18.<\/p>\n<p>The other semi-final (between Graham Heaton and Kevin Profke) is yet to be played.<\/p>\n<p>The introduction of a Scroungers competition is proving popular.<\/p>\n<p>Two rinks played on Friday and some good scores were registered.<\/p>\n<p>Robyn Diercke took out the title of &#8220;Chief Scrounger&#8221; with 70 points. Next best was David Douglass with 50 points.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>My column is a little late this week because I&#8217;m off for a week&#8217;s break in New Zealand.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Why?
