The Brisbane Valley Highway was blocked for several hours on Wednesday near Fernvale after a crash involving a sedan, a 4WD and a stationwagon.<\/p>\n

At this stage, few details are available however southburnett.com.au<\/strong> has been told 10 people have been taken to hospital – four by helicopter to Brisbane hospitals and six by road ambulance to Ipswich General Hospital.<\/p>\n

Diversions, via Glenmorganvale, are in place around the crash site, which is two kilometres south of Fernvale at Fairney View.<\/p>\n

The QAS was called to the scene at 1:16pm.<\/p>\n

An ambulance spokesman said three people were in the first vehicle, which rolled over – a mother and two children. The mother, who suffered limb fractures, was trapped and had to be cut free. She was transported by helicopter to the PA Hospital in Brisbane.<\/p>\n

A male child with chest injuries and a female child with seatbelt injuries to her abdomen were flown to Lady Cilento Hospital in Brisbane.<\/p>\n

From the second vehicle, the male driver suffered minor head injuries and was taken to Ipswich Hospital. His 50-year-old passenger suffered shoulder, chest and hip injuries and was flown to PA Hospital.<\/p>\n

From the third vehicle, a 55-year-old woman, a woman aged in her 30s, two teenage girls and a 10-month-old infant were taken to Ipswich Hospital for assessment.<\/p>\n

Police, ambulance and QFES crews are at the scene and the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
