Work will begin next week to rebuild Markwell Street, Kingaroy, between Pound Street and Kingaroy Street.<\/p>\n

Roads portfolio holder Cr Damien Tessmann said the project was scheduled to begin on April 7.<\/p>\n

It would include the replacement of kerbs, the installation of drainage and a bitumen re-seal plus signs and line marking.<\/p>\n

“It is expected that the work will take approximately eight weeks,\u201d Cr Tessmann said.<\/p>\n

The work will be carried out in two stages – the south side of the street first, and then the north side.<\/p>\n

Cr Tessmann said pedestrian access to local businesses should not be affected but there would be limited vehicle access and parking during the reconstruction work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

While the project in underway, Markwell Street will have one-way traffic only. The traffic flow direction will be indicated by signs.<\/p>\n

Also at times it may be required to have traffic flows under the direction of traffic controllers with minor delays.<\/p>\n

Markwell Street may even be closed for short periods<\/p>\n
