A 28-year-old driver breath-tested by police on the Bunya Highway on Thursday night allegedly blew 0.173 BAC – more than three times the legal limit.<\/p>\n

The woman, driving an older model Mitsubishi Magna, was pulled over north of Kingaroy and was apparently heading back home to Ballogie.<\/p>\n

“She was extremely intoxicated. That’s an extremely high reading for a female. The result could have been tragic,” Kingaroy Officer-in-Charge Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said.<\/p>\n

“Police were so concerned for her safety that they transported her home.”<\/p>\n

At 1:00am on Saturday, police breath-tested a Kingaroy man in Youngman Street. He allegedly blew 0.079.<\/p>\n

A 71-year-old man playing chicken with traffic at the intersection of Youngman and Alford streets, Kingaroy, will face charges of public nuisance and obstructing police.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said police were called at 7:00pm on Friday and found the man “behaving erratically”.<\/p>\n

“He was jumping out in front of cars and hitting them,” Snr Sgt Frank.<\/p>\n

“He was also unco-operative with police, wanting to argue and fight.”<\/p>\n

The man was also issued with a notice to appear in court on a charge of wilful damage in relation to an incident in Wondai earlier in the week.<\/p>\n

When police stopped an older model Commodore in Kingaroy Street at 2:30am on Saturday, they discovered the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured – and it was the fifth time the 36-year-old woman driver had been pulled over in an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said police immediately impounded the vehicle and it could be subject to court forfeiture.<\/p>\n

A 40-year-old woman has been issued with a notice to appear in court to face a charge of possessing a dangerous drug after a drug search warrant was executed on a house in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police allegedly located a small amount of cannabis.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Friday, Kingaroy detectives and Nanango police raided a property on Mt Stanley Road in a search for illegal firearms and ammunition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They were accompanied by a “bomb dog” from the Explosive Ordnance Response team, based in Brisbane.<\/p>\n

After a search of the property, police charged a 45-year-old man with unlawful possession of explosives (small calibre ammunition).<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the incident demonstrated that Kingaroy Police had access to specialist teams from Brisbane.<\/p>\n

“If\u00a0 we believe we have a need of them, they will come to the South Burnett,” he said.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Kingaroy police were called on Friday afternoon to a property on the Westaroy Estate in River Road after claims a stolen pump could be seen in the tray of a ute parked at the location.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There was no one at home when police visited, however they allegedly located a general purpose pump which had\u00a0 been stolen from a Hope Dairies property in the Kumbia area. Police also allegedly located a number of cannabis plants.<\/p>\n

A 56-year-old man has been issued with a notice to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 27 to face charges of producing dangerous drugs and stealing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
