An 18-year-old man from Jinghi, south of Darr Creek, has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly drove his car at a police officer last night.<\/p>\n

Police will allege that about 10:45pm a police officer intercepted a sedan on High Street, Jandowae, for a random breath test.<\/p>\n

While he was speaking, the driver allegedly made threats towards the officer, turned the vehicle sharply and reversed into the male officer.<\/p>\n

The officer was forced to jump out of the way and the vehicle crashed into the nearby police vehicle.<\/p>\n

It will be further alleged the man then accelerated again towards the officer, forcing him to move out of the way to avoid being struck.<\/p>\n

The vehicle then drove away.<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old senior constable sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n

The driver has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, threatening violence and obstructing police.<\/p>\n

He will appear in Dalby Magistrates Court tomorrow.<\/p>\n
