This year’s Kumbia Brain Drain promises a “horrifyingly” good night out<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

March 18, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tickets for this year’s 22nd annual Kumbia Brain Drain went on sale today, and if you’re planning to attend you should book quickly.<\/p>\n

Although the Brain Drain won’t be held until August 29, tickets to the last three have sold out months ahead of time.<\/p>\n

The reason? The size of the Kumbia Hall means no more than 210 trivia buffs can take part.<\/p>\n

The Brain Drain is an annual fundraiser for the Kumbia State School P&C, and it takes the form of a fancy dress trivia night.<\/p>\n

Last year’s theme was “Space Oddity” and Kumbia Hall was packed with all sorts of crazy costumes as guests competed for prizes for the best-dressed team and best team name.<\/p>\n

This year, the theme will be “Nightmare On Bell Street” (Kumbia’s main street) and all manner of non-Disney costumes can be expected.<\/p>\n

Apart from the costume cash prizes, participants also compete for cash prizes in each round, as well as an overall first prize for being the brightest team of the night.<\/p>\n

To help things along, this year the Brain Drain committee will be supplying free G(h)oulash, tea and coffee.<\/p>\n

But guests are encouraged to bring along an esky filled with snacks and drinks to keep their teams supplied with other essentials.<\/p>\n

Brain Drain participants need to be aged 15 or above, and teams compete in groups of six.<\/p>\n

For those who prefer not to drive, a $5 per seat bus will also be running from Kingaroy on the night.<\/p>\n
