Are you interested in getting involved in the 2016 local government elections?

Polling day for the four-yearly elections will occur on Saturday, March 19.

It is compulsory for all enrolled voters to vote in the election, and residents can check or update their enrolment details on the Electoral Commission Queensland website, or by phoning 1300 881 665.

Residents who are interested in working at the election can apply online on the Electoral Commission Queensland website, too.

Position descriptions, duties, and terms and conditions of employment are available on the website in PDF format.

Positions are available either prior to polling day, or on the day itself, and successful applicants will be contacted by email with a formal offer of employment.

Polling booth and pre-poll centre locations will be available closer to the election.

Polling booths will be open on election day between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
