Residents from the former Kilkivan Shire have contributed to a special history of Gympie which will be officially launched next week.
The “Heritage Wonders Of The Gympie Region” book is part of Gympie’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
The book attempts to list the region’s most important heritage sites.
Contributors include former Kilkivan Shire councillor Dawn Choate, Great Horse Ride stalwart Mike Webb, former Kingaroy Shire Council CEO Ron Turner and Booubyjan Homestead owner Stephanie Lawless.
The book has been prepared by the National Trust Gympie Working Group in conjunction with a local newspaper.
It will be officially launched at Gympie Showgrounds next Wednesday.
Copies will be available to buy from Goomeri BP, the Widgee General Store and Murgon News.
