Here’s the weekly Fishing Report for Boondooma dam for the week ending Monday, May 4:

Boondooma Dam

  • Dam Level = 67 per cent

More than 100ml of rain fell during the week, which changed the water temperature but didn’t affect the fishing.

There are still plenty of Golden Perch being caught using live bait.

The weed beds around the banks are holding lots of shrimp and they are fairly easy to catch.

The active Bass seem to be still holding close to structure so they key is the river arms, using spinnerbaits.

There are lots of schooled fish in the main bays but they are still not ready to bite. As the water temperatures drop, these fish should become more active with tail spinners or ice jigs.
