Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their latest monthly exhibition with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be showcasing its annual Children's Art Competition, which will fill all three galleries with works in a variety of media created by South Burnett children aged 4-18. This year the competition has received more than 240 entries and with $1200 in prize-money on offer there'll be strong interest in seeing who the winners of the various categories are. As usual, tonight's opening will also feature hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from a South Burnett winery, live music and lots of fun socialising. Open Mic Night At The Palace - Nanango
The Palace Hotel in Fitzroy Street, Nanango will be hosting an Open Mic Night with the Mr Q Acoustic Duo from 7:30pm until late tonight. All equipment is supplied - just bring your voice and instrument - and there's no admission. The Palace's kitchen will also be open if you want dinner beforehand or a snack during. More details? Line Dancing - Yarraman

Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Ringsfield Writers - Nanango

Ribs, Wings & Tacos - Proston
The Proston Golf Club at 81 Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a special "Ribs, Wings & Tacos" night from 5:30pm to around 8:30pm this evening to celebrate the first birthday of the club's Friday night restaurant. In addition to a great feed - and the club really do serve up good grub - all guests can get to top off the evening with a bonus free dessert. Kingaroy's Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am today. Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
CANCELLED:The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy had planned to hold the opening of their August exhibition tonight, but have cancelled it due to concerns about the current COVID lockdown in Brisbane. However, their exhibition - "Impressions 15", which features fine art prints, drawings and artists books from Impress Printmakers - will be on display from 10:00am to 4:00pm weekdays, and 9:00am to 1:00pm on Saturdays and public holidays, until August 28. Admission to view it is free.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). And anyone who's finding it hard to make ends meet is very welcome to make use of it. More details? Phone James on 0438-071-658.
