South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Nanango Autumn Race Meeting
The Nanango Race Club will be holding itsAutumn Race Meeting at the Lee Park Raceway in Racecourse Road just south of Nanango from 10:00am to about 5:00pm today. Today's races will have a "Shades Of Autumn" theme and everyone is encouraged to dress up in their best Autumn outfits and/or accessories to be in the running for some great Moffatdale Ridge Fashions Of The Field spot prizes. The race club's licensed bar and BBQ will be operating under the extended covered area; the race club canteen will be open for sit-down dining; and there'll be plenty of bookmakers and an on-course tote available in the betting ring to take your wagers. There's also plenty of undercover seating and lots of parking on course. The Autumn meeting is always popular and patrons are welcome to picnic on the lawns and even bring their own marquee if they like. Buses will be running to the races from Kingaroy's Glendon Street Bus Depot (12:00 noon) and the rear of Nanango's Fitzroy Hotel at 12:30pm, and the first race will leave the barriers around 12:33pm, but gates will open earlier so go-getters can get a head start on that all-important socialising. Admission is just $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners (under-16s are free). Everyone is welcome! Note: This meeting replaces the meeting planned for Saturday, May 21 which was washed out.
Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Bunya Mountains Markets
The monthly Bunya Mountains Markets will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally-produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas, and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park. Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Kilkivan Railway Markets
The monthly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets run on the last Sunday of every month and always feature an array of locally produced fruit, vegetables and merchandise. New stallholders are always welcome, too! More details? Sunday Bingo - Wondai

The South Burnett Nutters running group will be holding their monthly 1km (for kids) and 5km (for adults) runs this afternoon. Runners should meet up at the Big Peanut in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy at 4:00pm (kids) and 4:30pm (adults) to run a circuit around the town. Everyone is welcome!
Holy Guacamole Walk/Run/Ride - Blackbutt
A Holy Guacamole fun walk, run or cycle ride (do whatever you prefer!) will be held at the Blackbutt Skate Park in Bowman Road, Blackbutt at 8:00am this morning to help raise funds to form a Blackbutt Parkrun group. Nomination fees are just $5 per person and all proceeds will go to the Parkrun fund. Everyone is welcome!
South Burnett Orchid Society - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Orchid Society will be holding their regular monthly meeting at CTC's rooms at the South Burnett Youth Park in Somerset Street, Kingaroy from 2:00pm to around 3:30pm this afternoon. The Society exists for orchid enthusiasts of all skill levels and meets on the last Sunday of every month except December. New members and visitors are always very welcome. More details?
