Pigstock - Kilkivan
The Kilkivan Bush Camping and Caravan Park in Rossmore Road, Kilkivan will be hosting the third day of its four-day Pigstock 2021 music festival from early this morning until late tonight. Over the four days the festival will host a range of high-profile Aussie performers including 8 Ball Aitken, the Mason Rack Band, Taylor Moss, Brook Chivell, the Hillbilly Goats, Fiona O'Shea and the Passengers and many more. Festival tickets and campsite bookings for stays of 1 to 4 days are both available, and can be booked online
Kumbia Book Club

Wondai Country Markets
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's popular monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon today, with stallholders selling everything from fresh fruit and vegetables through to arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks, foods and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots and lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and special hand-made treasures from local artisans available from the Art Gallery's "Studio" building just a short stroll across the park. The BBQs will also be firing up from 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts for early bargain hunters. New stallholders are always very welcome (stall fees range from $10 with power and water available, if needed) and you can obtain more details by phoning the Wondai Regional Art Gallery on (07) 4168-5926.
Nanango Mini Market
The Nanango Mini Market, which runs on the 4th Saturday of each month (except January) outside the Churchyard Opp Shop at the corner of Drayton and Burnett Streets in Nanango, will be running from 7:00am to around noon this morning. Apart from offering great bargains at great prices - ranging from plants to craft work, DVDs, bric-a-brac, glassware, books, jewellery, photographic work and mosaic art - the markets also have a $2 sausage sizzle, $1.20 soft drinks ($2 for a coke) and gold coin donation tea and coffee if you get peckish. Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed runs at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event. More details? Send an email.

Saturday Rugby League - Kingaroy
This weekend's local league games will be played at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy, and they will all be Minor Premiership matches to kick off the finals series, so spectators can expect to see some pretty good football. The day will kick off with Juniors when the U8s hit the field at 8:30am, followed by U10s (Nanango vs Kingaroy 1) and U12s (Kingaroy 1 vs Murgon 2) at 9:30am. After this, Murgon 1 will play Cherbourg in U10s and Nanango will play Kingaroy 2 in U12s at 10:20am, and then Kingaroy 2 will play Murgon 1 in U10s and Murgon 1 will play Cherbourg-Wondai in U12s at 11:10am to wrap things up. After this - at noon - Chinchilla will play Nanango in U14s, followed by Kingaroy vs Murgon in U14s at 1:15pm. Then in A-Grade, Kingaroy's Red Ants will take on Cherbourg's Hornets in the sudden death Minor Semi-Final at 2:30pm, followed by a clash between Minor Premiers Nanango Stags and the second-placed Murgon Mustangs in the Major Semi-Final at 4:15pm. The Red Ants canteen will be open all day with a licensed bar opening during the afternoon, and spectators are very welcome!
Pig On A Spit Night - Maidenwell
The historic Maidenwell Hotel will be holding its monthly Pig On A Spit evening from 6:00pm until late tonight (dinner is served from 6:00pm to 8:00pm). There'll be live entertainment from Arthur Nettelfield and lots of cold beer, along with more pork than you can poke a fork at, all served up with with roast potatoes, pumpkin, corn, peas, carrots, applesauce and gravy! The hotel also has roast beef and spit roasted chicken on the menu for those who prefer not to put pork on their fork, plus a vegetarian option (ie vegies only), along with Little Butcher meat tray raffles to raise funds for Tanduringie State School. Tucker & Chop - Kingaroy

Byte Night - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will holding their fortnightly Byte Nite from 6:00pm to around 8:30pm this evening for Murgon and Cherbourg youngsters. Children can play a range of fun and entertaining games and pursue other amusements for free during the course of the night, as well as get a free meal and a ride home afterwards if they need one, all under the supervision of caring local volunteers. Byte Nite is an initiative of the PCYC and Murgon Business and Development Association to tackle youth crime in the district by giving youngsters something to do on a Saturday night, and anyone who'd like to volunteer to help this community-driven initiative in any way should contact Sgt Rene Bond at the PCYC on (07) 4168-1889 for more information.
Billy Guy - Kingaroy

Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls, and are held weekly.
